So it’s Fall! That means slutty costumes, the new primetime television lineup on FOX (I’m sure they’re all winners), and crappy “pumpkin” spice lattes at every major coffee shop on the planet. If you’ve ever had one of these seasonal drinks you should know there is no actual pumpkin in them (which you probably already do and don’t give a horses butt); but they are oh so delicious aren’t they? With all those genetically modified coffee beans that taste so bitter they have to cover it up with that high-fructose corn syrup and chemical flavorings. And you can’t forget about the genetically modified, antibiotic infused, hormone injected, puss filled, diseased, factory farmed milk. Yum, just like mom used to make.
So in the spirit of Autumn and everyone going out and rushing to buy these monstrosities of nature, I thought I would post a recipe to make your own. I promise it’s painless.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe (use organic ingredients)
Makes 1 Latte
1 cup canned coconut milk (you can really use any kind of milk, but coconut is my favorite)
2 shots espresso or 2 shots of coffee (whichever you prefer)
2 tbsp canned pumpkin puree
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice mix
1 tbsp maple syrup or raw honey
1/2 tsp vanilla powder or 1 tsp vanilla extract
Place all ingredients in a small pot and turn the flame on high and whisk everything together, when the mixture is just about to boil turn off the flame and whisk again. Pour into your favorite mug and sprinkle some cinnamon on top if desired.
Now you’re ready to go to that
crappy job you oh so love. Happy Fall!
